Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Chilling Atmosphere of Mending North-South Relations

Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the U.S. military announced that it planned to deploy the nuclear carrier Stennis in the West Pacific soon in the wake of making public the deployments of Ronald Reagan staying in Japan and Carl Vinson in the U.S. mainland in the waters off the Korean Peninsula.
Meanwhile, the U.S. reinforced various type fighters and troops in its air bases in south Korea and Japan from its mainland.
Commenting on the fact, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says that such moves are an unpardonable military provocation chilling the atmosphere for improved inter-Korean relations created by the DPRK's pro-active proposal and efforts and challenging the unanimous desire and demand of the public at home and abroad for detente and peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The commentary says that the U.S. reckless military provocations are reminiscent of a pack of wolves eyeing a feast at other's wedding house.
It goes on:
The U.S. aggressor forces deployed in and around the Korean Peninsula would become the best prey of the Hwasong artillerymen that put Guam and the U.S. mainland in their striking range.
The U.S. had better awake from an illusion, properly facing up to the strategic position and entity of the DPRK as a world-level military power.
The U.S. imperialist warmongers would be well advised to ponder over disastrous consequences to be entailed by their military provocations against the DPRK possessed of powerful nuclear deterrence, cool down their heads heated with war hysteria and stop acting rashly. -0-
